Even a domain name appraisal will not change someone's opinion |

I ballroom dance, and as a result some of my business ideas have been in the realm of the dance world. I've dabbled in everything I can imagine, and one idea involved the purchase of a domain name called "dancestudio.com". Hot domain, right? Well, not really - not when you consider the guy who owns it.
I desperately wanted to buy this thing, but when I found out the owner wanted no less than 50,000$ for it, I flipped. There was no way his domain was worth that much, especially since it wasn't even developed! I ran a WHOIS query and his Alexa rank was really poor, and monthly revenue probably a few dollars from his pay-per-click. It was pretty shoddy. So, I had a domain name appraisal done to help me further my case.
My domain name appraisal was done through Moniker. They are one of the most accurate appraisers on the net, and they came out with an estimate of $17,000 for the domain. I sent the domain name appraisal to the guy and still nothing - now he indicated he wants a minimum of $100,000 and has a build up strategy.
Don't you just love the world?
